Research Appointments
Centre for Sustainable Asian Cities (CSAC)
CSAC is looking for Research Assistants to join its various research teams.
Successful applicants will join CSAC's international and multidisciplinary research cluster. The candidates we are looking for will focus on research projects that explore the relationship between urban density, human comfort, environmental sustainability and sustainability parameters/benchmarks. Candidates with appropriate computing and design skills that include simulation and visualization of urban designs optimized for the tropical climate are preferred.
The appointments can commence in August 2009 with a competitive salary. Candidates currently pursuing a relevant PhD program at NUS are also invited to apply.
The following are the basic requirements for the Research Assistant appointment:
- Possess at least a good Bachelor degree with a strong aptitude for research;
- Have the capability to undertake large scale research projects under the general guidance of the Principal Investigators, senior researchers and faculty;
- Able to accurately monitor, document and report of research findings;
- Have abilities in data collection, management and analysis;
- Able to assist in report preparation; preparation of scientific manuscripts and other literature for publication;
- Able to contribute to project management, provision of guidance to undergraduate students, and other duties as assigned.
- Candidates with knowledge of GIS and computer modeling techniques relating to design applications would be preferred.
